Chloe cares for the Bears

As part of our on-going commitment as a Sup-paw-ting Partner of the Bears of Sheffield, our Communications Assistant Chloe Goddard has taken up a volunteer role on the trail. She will conduct weekly checks and spring cleaning on a group of bears to ensure they stay looking their best.

Chloe - who is based on our Kangaroo Works and Cambridge Street Collective and Elshaw House projects - will be responsible for looking after a group of eight bears in Sheffield city centre, including Be Nice & Be Together which is sponsored by Henry Boot PLC. She will also care for Hendo's Bear, Nebula, Butterfly Bush, Woodstock, Botanical, Barker and Sheffield Folk.

Chloe said: "I’ve been a huge fan of The Bears of Sheffield project since it began and wanted to get further involved with it myself. Volunteering to care for the bears has been such a great way to become an active part in the project and see first hand how it has brought the community of Sheffield together, whilst raising money for this amazing charity."

The Bears of Sheffield trail will raise money for a new Cancer and Leukaemia ward at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. We have a longstanding partnership with The Children’s Hospital Charity, having previously provided significant support for the highly successful Herd of Sheffield event, which raised £610,000 for the charity in 2016.

Shauna Mosley, Volunteer Co-ordinator at The Children's Hospital Charity said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to Chloe for the inspirational commitment, selflessness and passion she has shown in helping to make our Bears look their brilliant best.

The Bears of Sheffield have taken over the city, creating excitement and bringing smiles back to people’s faces. Yet this project would not have been possible without all the people like Chloe who are getting their paws dirty behind the scenes to ensure its success for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. On behalf of everyone in the Charity Team, thank you Chloe."
