Henry Boot Construction sponsors BIADS Food FestivalHenry Boot Construction sponsors BIADS (Barnsley Independent Alzheimers & Dementia Support) Festival

BIADS is a registered charity, formed by Barnsley people to provide support to those who have any form of dementia.

From their dedicated centre in Barnsley, BIADS can provide support to those affected by dementia, their carers’, families and friends by providing information, emotional support, social opportunities, meaningful activities and events.

BIADS organised the Food Festival at Cannon Hall, Wakefield which took place over the Bank Holiday Period at which Henry Boot sponsored the gazebos.

Catherine Spooner, Communications Officer for Henry Boot, volunteered to help on the stall, predominantly on the “What is the bear’s favourite food” competition.  Catherine handed out balloons to promote BIADS and collected donations from generous visitors who attended the festival.

Catherine said “One of the highlights of the festival was a Pie Off competition, for which, Derek Martin’s (Contracts Planner at Henry Boot Construction) wife Anne, submitted two fantastic entries one of which was a Chicken Pie with a BIADS pastry designed logo on top!

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Henry Boot Construction for sponsoring our gazebo”
