Henry Boot Construction have attended this year's I Know I Can (IKIC) Big Challenge in Barnsley, which saw Creative Freedom win the prestigious Best Overall Business Award on Wednesday 3 May.

Project Director, Ryan O'Loughlin and Employment and Skills Manager, Adeana Raper both attended the event to show support for the challenge.

The awards marked the end of this year's challenge which gave young people the chance to experience setting up and running a business. Teams were judged by a panel of experts including Henry Boot Construction's Communications Officer, Catherine Spooner along with Andy Chesterton from Praxsoft and Mandy Reavil from NPS Barnsley, in three key areas, Innovation, potentional for future growth and profit.

Charlotte Hollingworth, 15 from Horizon Community College is the young entrepreneur behind Creative Freedom. Charlotte made a series of colouring books, taking inspiration from the landmarks of Barnsley to feature 14 iconic locations.

"We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of students participating in the I Know I Can Big Challenge. It is a unique opportunity for the students to demonstrate their business skills, whilst being supported by business leaders from the private sector. The winners should be congratulated and showed real potential to become the next generation of entrepreneurs."
