Henry Boot Construction won two awards at the CIOB Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Awards 2016, at the Cutler’s Hall in Sheffield on Friday 7 October.

The awards were endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Building working in collaboration with Little Spark. The CCISY awards promoted a range of different sectors essential to the delivery of innovative construction, from empowering communities through corporate social responsibility and investing in skills, to creating low carbon developments and being environmentally pro-active.

This year HBC won the Collaborative Working Award which recognises our tripartite collaboration with Amey Local Government and Amey Consult as part of the Sheffield Streets Ahead Highways PFI scheme.

We also won the Health & Safety Award for the third time. This award celebrates our commitment to continuous improvement and training, and our compliance to construction Health and Safety legislation. Richard Grafton said “Winning this coveted CIOB Health and Safety Award is further recognition of our dedication to achieving the highest standards of health and safety management. This commendation for Henry Boot Construction is a testament to our site teams for their hard work and commitment.”

CIOB Sheffield & South Yorkshire Centre Chairman, Jonathan Took said, “These awards celebrate the region’s commitment to building communities and highlight the broad spectrum of construction excellence delivered by businesses working in the area. They demonstrate what can be achieved through strong partnerships, a clear vision and delivery through high quality implementation.

We were overwhelmed at the quality of the entries we received, and this year a record number were submitted. The winners are all very deserving of their awards and we look forward to seeing them again next year and finding out more about their ongoing and future programmes of work.”

This year’s event saw the highest ever amount of entries and over £2,400 was raised for The Children’s Hospital Charity during the evening.
