Fox Valley residential infrastructure works well underway – 23/11/16

Fox ValleyStonebridge Homes

Henry Boot Construction were selected as the civil engineering infrastructure support contractor for Stonebridge Homes Ltd, to help deliver the Fox Valley residential project. Works commenced in January 2016 on phase 1. Initial works involved the grout injection of existing mine workings across the site, followed by the installation of stone column piles to the footprint of each individual housing plot. Henry Boot also constructed the main estate spine roads and the large diameter concrete surface water attenuation pipe lines and mains foul water sewers to the development. Housing plots are taken up to DPC level before being handed over to Stonebridge Homes Ltd. Hard landscaping works are completed after Stonebridge Homes have constructed the houses.

The project is currently at week 43 of an overall programme of 171 weeks. Once complete, Fox Valley will be made up of 118 new homes in total. There is a range of designs available, from one bedroom apartments to a selection of two, three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached homes. The development will benefit from a choice of amenities right on the doorstep at the new Fox Valley retail development, with a supermarket and many other major household retailers, independent stores, restaurants and coffee shops soon to be opening their doors, all just short walk away.

The original Fox Valley retail development was undertaken by Henry Boot Construction and opened in June 2016. The opening of the show home for the new residential project coincided with the retail park opening day in June 2016 by Joanna Lumley OBE.

“We are very pleased to be able to continue our working relationship with Stonebridge Homes on this prestigious residential project and look forward to delivering quality living space in the heart of Stocksbridge, alongside the recently opened Fox Valley Retail development. It is particularly pleasing to see the new housing development springing up from the site of the redundant steel works and see the regeneration of the area.”
