Henry Boot Construction attended the 2016 National Site Awards Winners Considerate Constructors ceremony held in Manchester on 12 April 2016 to be presented with two awards.  We received the bronze award for Chesterfield College, East Block 1 project and a silver award for the Hawksley & Cornish bungalows project.

The Chesterfield College works consisted of a 2000m² construction and fit-out to teaching and workshop space to house the college’s carpentry, joinery, painting and decoration departments.  Landscaping, cycle shelters, energy saving equipment and photovoltaic roof panels were installed achieving BREEAM excellent.

Refurbishment was carried out to 55 Hawksley bungalows and 2 semi-detached Cornish properties in Chesterfield for Chesterfield Borough Council.  The external works comprised of replacement windows, doors, roofline works including rainwater goods, external wall insulation and render to occupied properties.

“An excellent result at this year’s Considerate Constructors Awards.  We were very pleased to receive a bronze award for Chesterfield College East Block 1 project accepted by Dean Briggs, and especially pleased to receive a silver award for The Hawksley Bungalows project in Chesterfield.  This award was achieved due to the continued effort and dedication of Derek McDonald.  The award was Derek’s sixth and a fitting testament to him.  The award was accepted by Lili McDonald, Derek’s daughter, accompanied by Gary Holmes and Mick Wake.  Well done to all who's efforts contributed to these awards.”
