Henry Boot Constructions’ Paul Cheung was one of the organisers for the Chinese New Year parade event held in Sheffield, celebrating the Year of the Monkey.  Traditional lion and dragon dances were part of the parade that spread from the bottom of the Moor to London Road.

Paul is Head Teacher for the Sheffield Chinese School and has volunteered his time for over 20 years each Sunday.  Paul organises activities and fund raising for the school.  The Sheffield Chinese School is a registered charity run by volunteers providing languages in Mandarin and Cantonese.

Rain didn’t dampen spirits for the Chinese New Year parade as around 200 people came to watch.  The event was followed by an afternoon of Chinese cultural performances by pupils of the Chinese school.

“It was great to see the whole event come together as everyone worked very hard to do a good performance.  I was proud to be part of the celebrations.”
