Henry Boot Constructions Employment and Skills Manager Adeana Raper and Business Apprentice Lili McDonald recently took part in ‘Be Inspired’ which is organised by Sheffield City Council and Skills Made Easy.

The event took place on 2 March 2016 at Ponds Forge in Sheffield and provides opportunities for businesses to exhibit and meet school leavers who are considering their next steps. Employers get the chance to meet potential apprentices, showcase vacancies and discuss potential career paths once they have left school.

Potential employers were able to discuss with young people about their future aspirations and in some cases inspire them into thinking what their next step might be.

“I just wanted to say thank you very much for attending and exhibiting at the Apprenticeship: Be Inspired 2016 event at Ponds Forge. The feedback we have received from schools and students has been absolutely brilliant and they seemed to really take lots away from the day which is great news and exactly what we wanted from this event.”

Rachel Crowder, School Placement Officer, Skills Made Easy

“By attending and supporting this event we are able to showcase the careers available in Construction. There is a skills shortage in our industry and we need young people to consider Construction as a career and the scope of job opportunities that are open to them.”

Adeana Raper, Employment and Skills Manager, Henry Boot Construction

“The event was a good day. The students were engaged and keen to learn about different roles within the Construction industry.”
