On 22 June 2016, Henry Boot Construction’s Managing Director Simon Carr and Strategic Business Manager Dave Woodhouse attended the Children’s Champions Dinner to raise money for The Children’s Hospital Charity.

The evening was held to support the patients and families who depend on The Sheffield Children’s Hospital and where emergency care is provided for more than 52,000 children every year. More than 260,000 patient journeys are made to the hospital each year and it provides a full range of services for children and young people in Sheffield and South Yorkshire. The Sheffield Children’s Hospital is one of four hospitals in England that is exclusively for children and aims to give them the opportunity of living a long and healthy life.

The event included a tour of the radiology department, where visitors heard about a much needed new piece of equipment called the Multipurpose Fluoroscopy System, which would form part of the hospital’s Radiology Department and would provide ‘moving image x-rays’.

“The dinner was a brilliant opportunity to see all the inspirational fundraising work that goes on behind the scenes. We should be truly grateful that this vital facility is on our doorstep and we are proud to be part of the huge fundraising efforts made by The Children’s Hospital Charity.”
