Henry Boot Construction are proud to announce that Employment and Skills Manager Adeana Raper has been appointed a Leeds City Region Enterprise Adviser for Hemsworth Academy in Wakefield.

Adeana will attend Hemsworth Academy on a regular basis, helping mentor students to prepare them for future jobs and careers. Adeana will also help to develop a whole school strategy for careers, enterprise and employer engagement, as well as link students to local business contacts and networks.

The Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership programme is currently working with over one hundred schools, from Wakefield up to Harrogate and York, and Henry Boot Construction are happy to be involved in the scheme.

“Schools often have misperceptions about the construction sector. They think of trades and assume it is a low skilled industry. In practice, there are jobs for all levels and the industry needs young people who are disciplined and motivated, with drive and ambition. We want to see young people who have the confidence to realise their potential, and that requires people behind them to provide support, including employers working with schools.”
