In January Project Manager Adam Houlston and Employment & Skills Manager Adeana Raper gave eight first-year bricklaying students from Sheffield College an opportunity to visit St Wilfrid’s and view the project.

Students were taken through the site induction process along with a site tour.  A presentation on the various methods of bricklaying was given to the students which also included the different occupations and careers undertaken on site.

Henry Boot Construction is building 20 self-contained flats with communal spaces for Sheffield homeless charity St Wilfrid’s which is aimed at improving the quality of life for vulnerable people and the homeless.

“We work with employers to ensure that our students benefit from work visits, experience, placements and mentoring, gaining skills for industry as well as qualifications.  I would like to thank Henry Boot for their support.”

Heather Smith, Principal, The Sheffield College

“It was a pleasure to discuss and show the on-site activities at the four storey traditional development at the heart of the city with young, enthusiastic bricklayers of the future.”
