Henry Boot Construction completes remediation project at Don Valley for Sheffield City Council – 26/02/16

The remediation project at Don Valley for Sheffield City Council has been completed.  The works on this iconic site included 80,000m3of cut and fill to create development plots for future regeneration in the area.  

Following demolition of the former stadium, works entailed the removal of all obstructions from the top 3m of the site, and 80,000 m3cut and fill exercise, together with grouting of the existing coal seams beneath the site.

Sheffield City Council is delivering the Don Valley Stadium Site remediation project, which is part financed by the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund through the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Program 2007-13.
