Henry Boot Construction Sponsors Community Christmas in Barnsley 09/12/16

Sara's Community Christmas

This Christmas, Sara Headley of Sara’s Flowers and Teas in Barnsley along with her team of volunteers are catering for more than the homeless this Christmas. There will be a family party atmosphere on Peel Street, with a choir singing carols from 10:30am until 12pm on Christmas Day (song sheets provided) Mince pies and hot drinks will also be available to ensure everyone keeps warm.

Henry Boot Construction Limited are currently working on the Better Barnsley town centre redevelopment and have contributed £2,000 towards the cost of the choir and the meals for those who are unable to pay. Our contribution towards this wonderful event will really make a difference, and several members of staff are planning to volunteer on the day and join in with the festivities.

Ryan O’Loughlin, Project Director at Henry Boot Construction said, “Henry Boot Construction are delighted to be able to contribute to such a worthy cause. Sara is a role model in the local community and we hope our help will make a real difference to those attending the Christmas meal."

Sara’s will be open from 8am until 8pm for the homeless on Christmas Day, serving up hot breakfasts and a carvery style Christmas dinner, with pack up sandwiches to take away afterwards.

This year, anyone who is on their own or simply wishes to join in with the community celebration can also come along for a three course “Pay as you Feel” dinner which will be served inside the café.

The organisers of the event are dedicated to ensuring that everyone is able to celebrate Christmas by enjoying and having good food and warm surroundings with friendly folk to spend the day with.
