Henry Boot Construction welcomes Technical Apprentice – 14/08/15

Jack Robinson

We wish our latest new starter a warm welcome. Jack Robinson joins our Civil Engineering division as a Technical Apprentice, employed through Futureworks (Yorkshire) on the YORfuture Shared Apprenticeship Scheme. Jack will undertake a B Tech in Construction in The Built Environment at Sheffield College whilst gaining valuable work experience on site.

The YORfuture Shared Apprenticeship Scheme has been established in partnership with Futureworks Yorkshire, YORhub, Yorkshire and Humber regional partners and is funded by the CITB. The Apprenticeship programme aims to improve employment and skills by providing a flexible and high quality solution to apprenticeship provisions.

I think an apprenticeship offers a great advantage as you are gaining work experience whilst also going to college which means you gain skills and knowledge which can be used across a range of jobs and industries. You also gain recognised qualifications. This opportunity means a lot to me as it has offered me the chance to start a career in construction.
