Customers of the WORK Ltd community café in Sheffield are enjoying some new and interesting seating thanks to a donation arranged by Henry Boot Construction and Edmunson Electrical.

We were contacted by the charity with an unusual request - to source some cable drums they could use as additional seating for their on-site eatery.

The increasingly popular Hidden Gem Café helps to support the students at WORK Ltd, a charity organisation that provides craft-based training and activities for people with learning disabilities, helping them to develop life skills and build confidence and self-esteem.

The students plan to refurbish the cable drums to provide quirky seating in the external area of the craft shop and café, just off Ringinglow Road in Sheffield.

Project Planner Kate Ribey arranged the donation with Doncaster-based electrical wholesaler Edmunson Electrical, who were only too happy to assist.

Henry Boot Construction have previously supported the charity, decorating premises and installing a sensory pathway as part of the national Give and Gain Day in 2012.

“We can't thank you enough for donating the wooden reels to us - the difference it has made to our outside eating area already is amazing.
“It will allow us to accommodate more seating facilities for our ever growing and busy café – the new tables have certainly been a talking point!”
