Henry Boot support the launch of the eighth annual BiG Challenge in Sheffield – 17/10/14

The BiG Challenge

Henry Boot Construction has recently taken part in the launch of the eighth annual BiG Challenge in Sheffield in September. The BiG Challenge is part of the BiG Enterprise Programme and is funded through Sheffield City Council and the European Regional Development Fund. The Challenge launched in 2007 encourages 11-19 year old students from across Sheffield’s secondary schools and colleges to develop and operate a business as part of a team.

Each team is provided with an initial £25 investment with the goal to make as much profit as possible, with judges reviewing the team’s ideas, methods used, team work and enthusiasm shown.

In addition to attending the launch event and the awards ceremony for successful businesses that follows in March 2015, Henry Boot Construction has also agreed to sponsor the Key Stage 4 Award for the second successive year.

“Your support both financially and also by attending the Flying Start Awards last year was greatly appreciated and I’m hoping that I can look forward to working with you again on what I hope will be another great and ‘Enterprising’ BiG Challenge.”

Linda Barton, Operations Manager, BiG Challenge 8
