Henry Boot Construction support the 4 Good Fund – 17/10/14

Efficiency North

As part of the EN Procure Framework, Henry Boot Construction’s Eastern Region has recently completed refurbishment work at the Denhale Active Recreation Centre on behalf of the Federation of Disability Sports Organisations (FDSO)  contributing towards the 4 Good Fund.

The Denhale Centre is a purpose built community sports centre with a gymnasium and outside football pitch. The FDSO aimed to re-invigorate the centre to make it a hub for community and disabled sports use, with a further plan to instigate local regeneration  of the area through offering the local community new activities at affordable rates.

Improvement work to the Denhale Active Recreation Centre has included improvements to the main office and kitchen, dismantling existing lockers, benches and hangers to be split and relocated in separate changing rooms, alterations to doorways, blockwork, and decorating. All the centres electrical equipment was also PAT tested.

“Denhale ARC provides an exciting opportunity for Disability Sport Yorkshire to develop its programmes for disabled people across the district. There has been a great deal of work to do in transforming the centre and we couldn’t have done it without your help. We are so grateful to Gary Holmes (Senior Contracts Manager), Derek McDonald (Site Manager) and the team.”

Kevin Halliday-Brown, Chief Executive, Disability Sport Yorkshire
