Henry Boot Construction support Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice – 17/10/14

Bluebell Wood Hospice

Henry Boot Construction took part in WCEC’s ‘construction and property’ road bike event Le Petite Tour de Derbyshire! on Friday 3 October. The event was made up of teams from Henry Boot Construction, WCEC, Morgan Sindall, Simons Group, Turner and Townsend, Monaghans and Vinci Construction.

The Henry Boot team included Richard Grafton, Rob Cundill, Austin Humphreys, Matt Hible and Dan Dracup.  Nick Hendley and Rob Whitehead from PWC joined the Henry Boot team.

The ride included a 28 mile road course between Bakewell and Hathersage in the Peak District and passed Chatsworth House. There was also a gruelling 3.5 mile climb close to Froggatt Edge and onto the Moors.

The event raised £1,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. The hospice offers care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy, both in their homes and at the hospice in North Anston. It gives families the chance to relax and, take a break.

“It was great to take part in this event alongside the other companies.  Raising £1,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice was worth the pain of the gruelling 28 mile course”

Richard Grafton, Head of Management Services, Henry Boot Construction
