Henry Boot Construction visit Wingfield Academy to support Career Fair – 28/11/14

Wingfield College

Henry Boot Construction’s Training Advisor Adeana Raper and Administrative Assistant Sophie Pickering recently visited Wingfield Academy, Rotherham as Construction Ambassadors for a career fair aimed at Year 9, 10 and 11 students.

The event was designed to promote careers, sectors and further education options for school leavers, and provide students with a better understanding of the working environment.  In addition to Henry Boot Constructions’ attendance, Dearne Valley College, Rotherham College, local Sixth Forms, the Forces including the Navy and Army and training providers were present to provide further guidance.

Since 2013, Henry Boot Construction in partnership with CITB Construction Skills have an appointed team of ambassadors to promote the construction industry in schools and colleges. As part of the commitment ambassadors attend events, give talks, interact with students and give presentations at community events with the benefit of helping students understand the construction industry and give them an insight into the sector.

“We are really pleased to support this scheme and keen to do anything we can to encourage young people into our industry. Hopefully the event will have positively encouraged students to consider a career in construction”

Adeana Raper, Training Adviser, Henry Boot Construction
