Fanshawe students visit Fox Valley, Stocksbridge – 04/07/14

Work Experience Site Visit

Henry Boot Construction hosted a number of work experience students last week from the Henry Fanshawe School in Dronfield. The 6th Form students were given a tour of our Head Office and completed work experience in departments such as Estimating, Purchasing and Planning before venturing out onto site at the Stocksbridge Redevelopment.

Henry Boot Construction’s Dan Cropper (Planner) and James Stobbs (Quantity Surveyor) completed the tour around the site including visiting the new TATA warehouse currently under construction, the redevelopment of an office block that had previously been damaged due to flooding, and the new retail development site.

The Stocksbridge Town Centre redevelopment is part of a multi-million pound project to transform a 15arce former industrial site off Manchester Road in Stocksbridge into a vibrant mixed use development. The Fox Valley development was bought forward by developers Dransfield Properties. The development due to be completed early 2016 will include new high spec office space, a new 635 space car park, retail, restaurant and café units anchored by a 63,000 sqft Tesco Store.

‘’Feedback from Alex and Liam was very positive especially after visiting the Stocksbridge Redevelopment site, they asked some really informative questions and especially enjoyed seeing a live construction site. ’’
