Henry Boot Construction sponsors winners of Big Challenge – 10/01/14

We are proud to announce that we will be sponsoring the Key Stage 4 winners of The Big Challenge, part of the Big Enterprise Programme, created to teach children the importance of entrepreneurial skills.

The scheme is funded through Sheffield City Council and European Regional Development Fund for students aged 11 – 19 from schools, academies, colleges and apprenticeship schemes in Sheffield.

Teams from the participating establishment are provided with £25 from which they have to start and grow a business of their choice. There are ten prizes in total that will be awarded to the most successful businesses. Although, of course, profit matters, the judges will also be looking at the team’s ideas and methods used together with their teamwork and enthusiasm.

The competition closes in February with the awards celebration taking place in April, at the Holiday Inn, Sheffield. Attendees will include the teams themselves, sponsors and members of the business community.

“We feel it is important to support such a wonderful opportunity for the next generation. In these difficult economic times, it is vital that young people are able to develop strong business acumen”.
