Henry Boot Construction Supports Sheffield College’s ‘Sustainable Living Construction College’ – 12/12/14

The Sheffield College

Henry Boot Construction’s Training Advisor, Adeana Raper, was recently invited to speak at a Sheffield College steering group meeting to launch of a new ‘Sustainable Living Construction College’. Other invited guests and speakers included members of the construction industry, Sheffield City Region LEP, Local Authorities, and local MP’s.

Sheffield College’s vision is to create an industry led, sustainable living construction training centre for the Sheffield and city region with assistance from the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership. The new college will be an extension to the existing College estate which already offers an extensive range of vocational courses, ranging from foundation level courses to diplomas and apprenticeships.

"This project would be an ideal opportunity for the students to get the necessary site experience, try out new technologies, use digital design, to see a project grow from start to finish.  For students on the higher courses to try out their skills as site supervisors, experience problems in a controlled environment - these students potentially are the site managers of tomorrow.
