Henry Boot Construction offer work experience for university students – 08/08/14

Henry Boot Construction recently hosted work experience students from Sheffield Hallam and Plymouth Universities.

Jamie Radnedge from Sheffield Hallam University recently completed his dissertation on Building Information Modeling(BIM). Jamie was placed with Kevin Dight our BIM Champion. Kevin demonstrated how we are currently working towards achieving BIM Level 2, creating a managed 3D environment for the coordination of digital data, training all professional staff members in the implementation of BIM and developing our in-house strategies and policies in incorporate necessary amendments for a changing industry.

Mark Lee from Sheffield Hallam Universityrecently completed his second year in Building Services. Mark gained hands on experience in the planning department, recording and distributing drawings, taking off materials, design coordination, monitoring progress and creating operation and maintenance files.

Tom Harrison from Plymouth University is working towards MEng in Civil Engineering and was looking for a summer placement to further develop his industrial experience portfolio.  Tom has been able to undertake work on the Stocksbridge site and Amey Streets Ahead Programme providing him with invaluable site experience.
