High hopes for CIOB Construction Manager of the Year Awards 2014 – 25/04/14

Construction Manager Of The Year

Two of our managers Steve Green and Mat Clarke have been nominated for the CIOB’s Construction Manager of the Year Awards 2014. Steve for his work on Bifrangi UK’S new screw press house, for Bifrangi UK, and Mat for his work on Graham Solley Sports Pavilion, for Sheffield Hallam University.

Steve, a Senior Project Manager with the Eastern Division, was responsible for managing the design and build of the Lincoln based project which includes an impressive 16m x 5m deep well that will house an enormous 70 tonne Schuler Press from Weingarten in Germany.  The press will be unique in the UK and represents only the second of its kind in the world.

Mat, also a Project Manager for the Eastern Division, was responsible for managing the design and build project at Graham Solley Sports Pavilion located in the north of Sheffield and part of Sheffield Hallam University’s Sports Park. The project included a new two-storey pavilion, 3G synthetic rugby and football pitches, changing rooms and leisure facilities.

If Steve and Mat are successful they will attend the awards evening to be held at the Marriott Grosvenor Hotel, London on 30October 2014.

Henry Boot Construction’s Senior Project Manager David Goddard came in the top five in his category at the CIOB’s Construction Manager of the Year Awards 2011. David was nominated in the New Build & Refurbishment £4m-7m category for his work on the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Framework scheme.
