Henry Boot Constructions’ Renewable Division shortlisted for Greenbuild Awards 2014 – 03/04/14

Greenbuild AWARDS 2014 Shortlisted

Henry Boot Constructions’ Renewable Division has been shortlisted for the Greenbuild Awards 2014 in the Domestic refurbishment category for our work at Pendon House, Barnsley.

Pendon House is a sheltered housing complex comprising of one and two bedroom flats and communal areas. The project included replacing two 30 year old gas fired boilers and the original heating distribution with new pipework, radiators and a 100kW ground source heat pump.

The Greenbuild Awards celebrate sustainable buildings focusing on actual measured performance rather than design intent or performance specifications. Projects shortlisted will be shown on a stand at the Greenbuild Expo on the 7th and 8th May with the winners announced at a Gala Dinner at the Radisson Blu in Manchester on the 7th May.

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in the Domestic Refurbishment category. The switch from a gas system to a ground source system has made a significant difference. Not only are residents seeing a reduction in their heating bills, their homes are warmer, more efficient and they have also reduced their carbon footprint”.
