Henry Boot Constructions’ Eastern Division present “BIM from a Contractor’s perspective” – 17/04/14

4d Simulation

Henry Boot Construction’s Kevin Dight (BIM champion) and Phil Lambourne (Senior Planner) recently co-presented ‘BIM from a Contractor’s perspective’ at Sheffield Hallam University.

During the session Kevin and Phil showed a walk through from a Revit model and a 4d build simulation utilising Navisworks. Both were from our BIM exemplar project undertaken with the National Federation of Builders. The session drew from the ‘Build Codnor Live’ conference which involved modelling a project from start to finish using BIM techniques.

BIM, Building Information Modelling, is set to be at the heart of all government procured projects by 2016 as part of a programme of modernisation within the construction sector.  Henry Boot Construction is currently working towards achieving BIM Level 2 which includes training all our professional employees in the implementation of BIM and developing our in-house policies.

‘’We appreciated the large turnout with a very knowledgeable audience judging from the lively question time. ‘’

Kevin Dight, Head of Technical Services, Henry Boot Construction
