Henry Boot Construction Shortlisted for National Green Deal & ECO Awards – 10/04/14

National Green Deal & Eco Awards - 2014

Henry Boot Constructions’ Eastern Division has had their “Warmer, Greener, Homes for the Community” scheme shortlisted at the National Green Deal & ECO Awards 2014 in the “Project of the Year” category.

The award recognises unusual, innovative or ambitious Green Deal or ECO projects with judges considering the size and scope of the project, the challenges involved and how they were overcome.

The project was one of the first schemes funded under the Energy Company Obligation, and involved 350 properties in the Frodingham area of Scunthorpe. Improvement works included external wall insulation, loft insulation, heating and re-roofing.

Winners for the Main Awards and Regional Awards will be announced at a Gala Dinner in May at the Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel in London.

"We’re delighted to be shortlisted for Project of the Year at the National Green Deal & ECO Awards. The project was a pioneering Energy Company Obligation Scheme and one of the first schemes to be funded under the government’s flagship policy. Fuel poverty was a serious issue for residents who struggled to achieve affordable warmth and this scheme provided the ideal solution"
