On  28th October work commenced on the construction of a new industrial unit for Northern Ireland’s biggest egg processor, Ready Egg Products.

Ready Egg Products selected Henry Boot Development’s Markham Vale site at Junction 29A on the M1 for its new manufacturing facility which will create 50 jobs over the next two years.

The unit will comprise a new, 34,700 sq ft production facility for the company with controlled temperature storage and associated offices. The site will also include car parking, a service yard, specific site access and drainage. Work is expected to take 32 weeks to complete.

Commenting on the project, Charles Crawford, Managing Director of Ready Egg Products, said: “This is an exciting development for Ready Egg Products. Our new processing site will give our customers – the vast majority of which are in the mainland UK – a better service at a better price.”

Ready Egg currently processes over 1.25 million eggs a day for a number of high profile clients to use in food-making including cakes, pastries, pies, mayonnaise and meringues.

“We’re delighted to have secured the contract to construct such a strategic operational development for Ready Egg Products. It’s our first design & build project on the Markham Vale site and I look forward to welcoming Ready Egg Products to their new, state-of-the-art facility next summer.”
