Sheffield Hallam University Sports Park ready for action – 13/11/13

SHU’s reputation as a sporting centre of excellence has received another welcome boost thanks to Henry Boot Construction.

Located in the north of the city and part of Sheffield Hallam University’s increasing sporting offer, the SHU Sports Park, incorporating the Graham Solley Sports Pavilion, provides modern, purpose built facilities not only for students but also for the local community and University partners.

The 31-week project saw Henry Boot Construction’s Eastern Division create a new two-storey pavilion, 3G synthetic rugby and football pitches, changing rooms and leisure facilities on the site of what used to be known as the Bawtry Road Sports Ground and Sheffield United Cricket Club. Cricket, football and rugby are just three of the sports that will benefit from the new facilities on offer and over 37 local groups will ultimately be using the Sports Park.

Completed at the end of September, the multi-million pound project is the latest in a number of schemes that Henry Boot Construction has carried out on behalf of Sheffield Hallam University.

“We are really proud to be involved in such a prestigious project for Sheffield Hallam University. The site team has delivered a high quality facility that will create a lasting sporting legacy over the years to come.”
