Tropo shortlisted for CIOB award – 26/02/13

Tropo Award

Henry Boot Construction’s Renewables Division has been shortlisted for a prestigious Chartered Institute of Building ‘Committed to Construction in West Yorkshire’ Award 2013, in the Renewable Technologies category.

In 2012, Tropo completed two contracts to install ground source heat pump for properties owned and managed by Yorkshire Housing in North Yorkshire.

As a result of the projects, ten rural properties in Weaverthorpe and 17 homes in Sherburn, Heslerton and Ganton near Scarborough now have a sustainable source of heating and hot water that is warmer and more efficient than the previous solid fuel system.

Residents in each of the properties are benefiting from reduced heating bills, saving over £60 a month, which represents a significant saving for each family.

“To be shortlisted in this category is a fantastic achievement in itself - we’re particularly proud of these two projects as they are the very first ground source heat pump projects we completed.
“Yorkshire Housing were so pleased with the first contract we delivered, they didn’t hesitate in considering us for the second phase.”

Ryan O’Loughlin, Managing Quantity Surveyor, Tropo
