North Lincs Homes PV

Residents in 160 North Lincolnshire Homes’ properties are now reaping the benefits of a renewable energy project delivered by Henry Boot Construction’s Renewables Division, Tropo.

The affordable housing provider awarded Tropo a second contract to install solar PV panels on the roofs of homes in the Crosby area of Scunthorpe in autumn last year, with works completing in December 2012.

The first contract Tropo completed for North Lincolnshire Homes enabled residents in 114 properties to benefit from affordable electricity throughout the year.

Energy savings were reported immediately with one resident highlighting a 50% reduction in her weekly expenditure.

“274 of our properties in Crosby now have solar PV systems. This is a major achievement for the organisation and underlines our commitment to our Affordable Warmth Scheme: healthy, comfortable temperatures at affordable prices for all of our residents.”

Neil Webster, Head of Regeneration, North Lincolnshire Homes
