HBC restructure as General Works Divison merges with Eastern – 11/01/12

Gary Shirley

Henry Boot Construction’s General Works Division has amalgamated with the Eastern Division, streamlining the management structure and creating efficiencies for our clients in an increasingly competitive market.

From January 1st, all staff within the General Works Division will be assimilated within the current business activity to ensure a seamless transfer to the Eastern Division.

As a consequence of the restructuring, Regional Manager Gary Shirley will be taking early retirement and passing the baton to Tony Shaw, Eastern Regional Manager.

Gary has worked for the Company for 39 years in which time he has held numerous positions, including Divisional Manager of GWD since 1993.  Throughout this time Gary has been an excellent ambassador for the company and has undertaken additional duties as a Trustee of the Henry Boot Defined Benefit Pension Scheme, a role which we hope he will continue to fulfil beyond retirement.

“I would like to place on record my sincere personal thanks to Gary for his hard work and commitment to Henry Boot Construction over the years and would like to wish him and his wife Jill a long, happy and healthy retirement.”

Simon Carr, Managing Director, Henry Boot Construction
