Seaside days out thanks to funding from HBC – 22/08/12

Blackpool Trip

Henry Boot Construction has taken a group of residents from Manchester’s Eastlands Homes on a seaside day out to Blackpool this week, following a similar trip for Doncaster residents in July.

The residents went from the high rise blocks Bickerdike, Worsley and Platt to kiss-me-quick hats and summer showers this Wednesday thanks to sponsorship of the coach travel by HBC who also provided an escort for the day!

HBC is undertaking external refurbishment insulation and cladding works to the three blocks, as well as communal area and environmental improvement works.

The trip was a thank you to the residents for their patience and co-operation whilst the works are being undertaken to their homes, as part of our mission to create strong links with TARAs and community groups in all of our work areas.

Residents from Stanley Gardens in Stainforth, Doncaster, were treated to a similar day out in July.

“Supporting community activities is a key part of our commitment to the principles of the Considerate Constructors Scheme – the residents and site staff on both trips had a great time and it was nice to see so many smiling faces.”
