MP praises major refurbishment scheme in Doncaster – 08/08/12

Doncaster Tower Block

Henry Boot Construction’s Eastern Divison received high praise from local dignitaries on the successful handover of a multi-million pound high-rise refurbishment scheme in Intake, Doncaster.

Mayor of Doncaster Peter Davies and MP Rosie Winterton came to see the improvements made to Shaftesbury House, Lonsdale House and Westminster House for St Leger Homes of Doncaster, which HBC delivered as part of their ongoing framework in the town.

The blocks received internal and external upgrades, including replacement windows and external wall insulation that that will reduce heat loss, giving better thermal efficiency and reduced energy bills for all of the residents.

The work was part funded by the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) – which was set up by the government to help reduce carbon emissions.

“As well as transforming the look of the flats, these improvements have transformed peoples’ lives by providing them with a safer, cleaner and more energy-efficient standard of housing.”

Rosie Winterton, MP for Doncaster Central
