Doncaster residents welcome energy saving roadshow – 10/06/11

Energy Saving Roadshow

Doncaster residents were offered advice to help them save money and the environment, at an Energy Awareness Roadshow organised by HBC yesterday.

Site teams working on the St Leger Homes of Doncaster framework set up the new ‘Energy Trailer’ on Montrose Avenue, Intake, and gave tips on reducing energy consumption, understanding utility bills, reducing condensation and understanding how much energy different appliances use.

On top of this, the large number of attendees were given information on renewable energy products, as well as plenty of cups of tea and biscuits.

Tenant Liaison Officers from HBC recently attended a three day City & Guilds course in Energy Awareness, which enables them to provide advice on a range of issues - part of the company’s commitment to sustainability and leaving a lasting legacy for local communities.

"It’s been a great event and I’ve learned a lot today – I’m really interested in the energy monitors and I really think it’s going to make a difference to my bills. It’s great that Henry Boot put on events like this, it really brings the community together."
