Henry Boot Construction is working closely with Sheffield City Council to bring one of the properties on their Shirecliffe new housing site up to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5.

As part of their research and development strategy, the company is looking at ways of bringing Plot 22 up from the already impressive Level 4 to the higher category, in order to further develop their experience of sustainable housing construction.

The Shirecliffe scheme is a £2.5m design and build development of 27 local authority houses and apartments in the north of Sheffield.

It is the first new council housing to be built in the city for over twenty years, and won a prestigious Housing Design Award for its innovative design and early involvement of key stakeholders.

With a strong focus on community regeneration and sustainability, the housing already features photovoltaic panels, innovative drainage solutions and multi-species planting.

Henry Boot Construction are looking forward to working closely with Sheffield City Council and the design team to develop the strategies necessary to achieve the Code 5 rating.
