Steps to Success at local allotment – 26/01/11

Catch 22

Steps To Success

Henry Boot Construction has given its help to a charity working with adult ex-offenders on an organic allotment by donating a sizeable shed that will allow them to store tools, grow seeds and more importantly keep dry!

The Steps to Success programme is a local programme part of national charity Catch22, which supports young people with tough lives who are facing difficult situations.

The project aims to stop the cycle of re-offending by encouraging service users to grow organic vegetables together, promoting teamwork, healthy eating and keeping fit.

“We travel to the allotment using public transport, carrying all of our tools with us - the shed will provide a safe place to store the tools and some much needed shelter for those wintry days.
"This will make a huge difference to the project and we would like to thank Henry Boot Construction for their kind donation.”

Catch22’s programmes help develop confidence and the skills required to grasp solutions that are right for the individual; from getting back into school or into training, choosing to stay out of crime, finding a safe place to live and helping them with the skills needed to live independently after leaving care or custody.
