Henry Boot Construction’s Managing Director has been discussing what the draft Localism and Decentralisation Bill could mean for the construction industry in Yorkshire and the Humber, in a recent industry publication.

Simon Carr discusses the ways in which new tender procedures and ways of working need to focus on locally delivered solutions if the industry is to stay competitive, in the latest edition of the Construction Sector Network Newsletter.

Simon is well placed to comment on the regional building sector, as he has just been appointed to the Sheffield City Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), where he is the only member on the board representing the construction industry.

The LEP will look at ways of delivering economic improvements to the region, and creating growth and development through strategic collaborations across all industries.
