Alvaston park changing facility completion – 11/02/11

Alvaston Cark changing facility

Henry Boot Construction’s Eastern division have just completed works on a new sports changing facility in Alvaston Park, Derby.

The building features sports team changing and locker facilities, council offices and a cafeteria for Derby City Council – funding came from the Football Foundation with support from the FA, the Premier League, Sport England and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

In addition to the building, the project included extensive ground stabilisation works, a new gas main and electrical re-feed to a pump house – all undertaken whilst the park remained open to the public.

Because of Derby’s industrial past, the site also had the potential to contain unexploded bombs from the Second World War, so additional health and safety procedures were put in place during the piling phase.

“We are pleased to have delivered another successful leisure project for Derby City Council, especially as the new facilities will benefit the whole community.”

Tony Shaw, Eastern Regional Manager
