Heptonstall School Safety Visit

Children on our Heptonstall Primary School site were treated to a walk round and a demonstration of various construction activities last week, as part of a drive to increase their awareness of the dangers of construction sites.

Site Manager Jovan Ristov and his team showed the children what their new school is going to look like and explained a little about the different trades as well as pointing out danger areas on the walk round.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit, particularly the floorboard cutting and bricklaying demonstrations, and even the teachers learned a thing or two.

The school refurbishment and extension project is being carried out by HBC’s General Works Divison for Calderdale Borough Council and is designed to meet BREEAM Very Good rating.

Strong links have been forged with the school throughout the project, and the team have worked closely with the Head and other staff members to deliver a safe site that causes the minimal amount of disruption to their operational school environment.

“The visit was really well organised - the children and staff had a fantastic time. Since the beginning of this project last January, Henry Boot have worked brilliantly with the school and this visit was another shining example of their dedication to a strong client / contractor relationship.”
