CCS Awards success for Henry Boot Construction – 08/04/11

Henry Boot Construction has been given two Gold and one Silver Considerate Constructor’s Scheme awards for their work on social housing schemes this year, and they are the first contractor ever to win two ‘Safest Site’ runners-up awards two years in a row.

Following a resounding success in last year’s awards, the Shirecliffe, Denaby Main and Airey Houses teams were the latest HBC sites to be honoured at a ceremony in Manchester recently.

The gold awards went to the Shirecliffe new homes (Sheffield City Council) and Denaby Main (St Leger Homes) schemes, and the Silver was given to the Airey Houses team (Rotherham MBC).

National runners-up awards for ‘Most Considerate Site’ were also given to the Shirecliffe and Denaby projects.

The recent recognition builds on the company’s previous success at the awards – last year a previous Airey Houses Scheme for RMBC and the St Leger Homes Conisborough site took home Gold, and St Leger Homes Scawsby were awarded Silver.

“We are strongly committed to supporting the Considerate Constructors Scheme, so being recognised at the annual awards is a fantastic achievement.
“The awards are testament to the commitment of our staff in raising the standards of health and safety and community involvement on all of our sites.”

Tony Shaw, Eastern Regional Manager

“Congratulations on obtaining Gold Award for Denaby Main site. It is a credit to yourself and the site team and continues to demonstrate the excellent service delivery by Henry Boot Construction both to St Leger Homes of Doncaster and our tenants. My congratulations and thanks to the site team.”

Paul  Elliott, Assistant  Director of Capital Programmes, St Leger Homes of Doncaster
