To celebrate Sheffield’s eleventh BiG Challenge event, we have once again sponsored a category at the awards ceremony. Held at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Sheffield, the evening was hosted by successful businessman and Executive Chairman of OSL Group Holdings David Grey MBE.

The BiG Challenge is an enterprise competition open to all secondary schools and colleges in Sheffield. Each team is provided with a £25 start-up loan to design and grow a business of their choice over two school terms. Whilst profit was important when choosing the winners, judges also considered ideas and methods used, together with their teamwork and enthusiasm. The event gave successful teams the opportunity to be rewarded and recognised for their hard work throughout the challenge. The winners received prizes, with the top prize, a trip to Copenhagen courtesy of DLA Piper, going to the Weasel Hosting team from Silverdale School.

Henry Boot Construction sponsored The Final Report Award, which was presented by Employment and Skills Manager Adeana Raper to LAGOM from High Storrs School who sold flavoured lip scrub, marbled scented soaps and coloured shower jellies.

“Congratulations to everybody who took part in the BiG Challenge this year. All the teams worked really hard to develop exciting business ideas, and the BiG Challenge is a great way of providing students with a taste of growing their own business.”
