The newly refurbished public concourse is designed as an ideal space for the University of Sheffield's landmark events, such as graduations and open days.
Connecting the Students' Union with the Alfred Denny building, the area also ensures the public can pass safely through, day and night. New paving, fencing, railings and walls gives the area a new lease of life and iconic lighting ensures darker areas are safe. It was important to retain green areas and there are now terraced areas with hedges, flowers, grass and small trees. Where possible, trees and plants were removed and recycled across campus.
Henry Boot Construction are delighted to have been involved in the delivery of the new attactive open space, making good use of the concourse for staff and students of the University of Sheffield for many years to come.
