A major project featuring demolition of existing buildings, construction of six new classrooms, remodelling three existing classrooms and constructing a new link corridor and outdoor play area.
The project has increased the school's capacity to 420 pupils with all works completed ahead of programme, ready for the start of the new academic year. Strong relationships with stakeholders and effective communication ensured disruption was kept to a minimum throughout the project, with weekly progress including photos, upcoming works and access requirements fully communicated.
A well run and tidy site with a good standard of internal and external finishes. Snags were minimal on handover.
James Boot, Project Architect for North East Lincolnshire Council
Increased student capacity
The safety of the school users remained the highest priority, and schoolchildren where taught about site safety through creative activities such as a safety poster competition and a visit from Ivor Goodsite, the Considerate Constructors Scheme mascot.
