An innovative and environmentally sustainable new business hub in South Yorkshire

The design and build contract includes 41 self-contained innovative workpod office units, part financed by the European Union through the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF programme. The 1,450-6,100 sq. ft. units have a mono-pitched roof finished with powder-coated metal cladding and sustainable wood.

The buildings are oriented to capture the best natural light with layout configurations developed through BIM and 3D imagery, and adjacent units are designed to be merged together to form larger units, meeting the needs of a variety of organisations. The sustainability principle has been applied throughout the project, reducing its carbon footprint and leading to whole life cost savings for the occupiers. Thermal insulation and heat recovery ventilation reduces heat loss. This ensured the finished site achieved a BREEAM 'Very Good' rating.

Workpods Limited are extremely pleased with the development and there is now significant interest from potential occupiers for the units, with several units already sold or under offer. Workpods have been very impressed with Henry Boot Construction’s approach to this project and we are very pleased with the standard of finish achieved.
