An award-winning design and build project to create a 64-bed multi-level care home, providing modern facilities and comfortable living spaces for the elderly in Dinnington.
Through close collaboration with our specialist partners and the Rotherham Construction Partnership, 'pod' sections were prefabricated off-site and used to form the four residential pavilions, all connected by a central day care centre. Further innovative approaches helped reduce the construction period by eight weeks, significantly reducing the programme. The project was so successful it received the Project of the Year Award at the CIOB South Yorkshire Awards.
I found Henry Boot very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. They kept a senior member of staff based at Davies Court organising and dealing with any problems. Ken was an asset to Henry Boot; the after care was second to none. He supported and guided us all the way. The workers he organised to complete work were also a pleasure to work with.

Completed to a high specification, the project includes sustainable features including green sedum pavilion roofs and storm attenuation tanks to minimise the risk of flooding. Low maintenance landscaping including a meadow scene encourages local wildlife as well as providing a relaxing space for residents.
Providing training to young people
During the course of the project, work placements were provided to the following:
- 5 work placement apprentices
- 2 employee trainees in quantity surveying and planning
- 2 job match students
