  • Bifrangi Screw Press House

Construction of a new Screw Press House on a live brownfield site in Lincoln

A full design and build project, we worked closely with the client to develop the initial concept, right the way through to completion. Specialist foundations were designed and built to house a 32,000 tonne percussion screw press.

The 16m x 5m deep reinforced concrete well that houses the 70 tonne Schuler Pressen is unique in the UK and only the second of its kind in the world. A 1,200m³ continuous concrete pour was completed over 36 hours attended by specialists from the Concrete Society. This was one of the largest continuous pours in the UK at the time.

Staff at all levels of our organisation found Henry Boot Construction’s site-based project management team knowledgeable, approachable and responsive. They dealt very efficiently with the inevitable challenges that accompany a project of this complexity. We found Henry Boot Construction to be customer focused and very professional, with a very positive and welcome ‘can do’ attitude ingrained throughout the company.
