Year 10 Mock Interviews at Meadowhead School

On 1 May two employees attended Meadowhead School to assist with their Year 10 mock interviews. Trainee Business & Marketing Assistant Bradley Longford and Employment & Skills Manager Adeana Raper interviewed 20 students over the course of the day.

The event aimed to provide students with a practical experience of a real interview situation, so they can be fully prepared once they leave school. The students prepared for the interview by writing and sending a CV to volunteers from businesses across the South Yorkshire region and thoroughly researching their business. On the day, interviewees questioned the students about their CVs and their knowledge of the company.

Bradley said: “It was great to see everyone giving the interviews a really good go, as I understand some of students had to overcome their nerves. I was pleased to be able to provide practical support to the students to help them on their journey into future employment.”

We thoroughly appreciate the ongoing time and commitment staff from Henry Boot Construction provide to Meadowhead School. For many students, the Year 10 Mock Interview is their first experience of an interview. Students told us that it was a positive experience and they found the experience really valuable. Most are already acting on feedback to improve their CVs and interview technique. Thanks to Adeana and Bradley for their help in making a real difference to the lives of our students and helping them to feel prepared for working life.
