Volunteering at Meadows Nursery in Sheffield

Some members of our team spent three days last week completing a number of jobs to renovate external areas at the nursery in Shirecliffe, Sheffield.

Assistant Site Managers Sam Hodgkinson and Lee Skidmore were joined by Senior Project Manager Dave Goddard and Senior Contracts Manager Gary Holmes on Friday afternoon to put the final touches on the works.

Our team cleaned out the guttering, canopies, and rainwater goods, extended and painted an existing fence, installed new bamboo screening, new geotextile weed barriers and topsoil, and tidied up the existing path areas with new bark chippings. The nursery also received new kitchen white goods and equipment as well as a range of construction themed toys.

We would like to say a big thank you to our supply chain who helped with the donation of materials and resources including construction materials, kitchen white goods and other items:

  • Scott Parnell

  • Euroffice
  • David Laban Contractors

  • Banner Accommodation
  • Henry Boot PLC

The outdoor work by Henry Boot and the donations they organised have made a huge difference to this community nursery project. They have helped to create a fantastic outdoor environment that the children really love to explore and provided some vital equipment indoors. The nursery team are extremely grateful for the support and look forward to continuing to work with Henry Boot in the future.
