Once again, The Glass Works has been successful at the Celebrating Construction in South Yorkshire Awards, picking up the Collaborative Working trophy at Cutlers’ Hall last week. 

This marks our third award for the Phase 1 project, an outstanding achievement considering the scheme is yet to be completed and is on schedule to be finished in Spring 2019.

This award celebrates our exceptional working relationship with our partners and supply chain. Under the three-year partnership with Barnsley Council, NPS Barnsley, IBI and Mott MacDonald, we have worked closely together to deliver the project, all in the spirit of transparency, openness and mutual trust. Through collaboration and excellent communication, many efficiency savings have been made, such as sharing staff between tasks to reduce costs.

Our commitment to creating an employment and skills legacy in Barnsley has led to further partnerships including The Skills Village and the Better Barnsley Bond.

The team have demonstrated that major projects can be successfully delivered through a partnering arrangement. Co-location played a major part as issues could be resolved quickly with openness and trust on a fast-moving project. We look forward to continuing the partnership into 2019.
